Review: Moo Has a New Take On Business Cards…Photogs-Pay Attention
I designed and printed my first business cards in Junior High School 104, New York, NY with letterpress type, black ink, and some beige colored stock. With all due respect to Johannes Gutenberg, whose 15th century technology I simulated in 8th grade, I imagine that the printing pioneer would have been impressed with the business cards from Moo that arrived today on my doorstep.
My set of 50 test cards alternated between a dozen different files I uploaded to make 12 different, 2-sided cards.
The full-bleed cards were printed on a 16pt stock with a pleasing matte finish. I was very satisfied with the color match to the layout I previewed on my calibrated Apple monitor. The text and logo on the reverse side was crisp, and the blacks were pure. Simply stated, I rank the quality of the Moo cards among the best I’ve seen from an online printer.
So, what does this mean for working photographers and enthusiastic amateurs? Variable, on-demand printing with classy designs that will get attention for your work. I could have uploaded 100 different files, or 200, all for the same reasonable prices. The Moo, Inc. site stresses that their products are all about creativity and unique presentation.
